Ugh, it is time to do the taxes or accounting!
Is that what you say when you see the pile of receipts sitting on your desk? I can help you with that! By combining traditional accounting practices with today’s modern technology, I help make your accounting more convenient, less time consuming and less frustrating.
I prefer not think of of myself as a typical accountant. I am a bit of a tech geek so being able to use online cloud software and other apps to get you the information you need to run your business better, really makes me happy! With over 25 years in the accounting industry, I have worked in several fields – government, education, industry and finally public practice – and I feel that this gives me a wider appreciation for the small business environment that we all work in.
I also believe in giving back to the community. Some of the community volunteer opportunities I have taken part in include: my children’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), Kelowna Ringette Association, the local Chapter of Certified General Accountants, and I am a lifelong blood donor. I am proud to have received the J.M. MacBeth Award (2009) and the CGA Community Service Award (2014 – only 1 of 2 awards in the province). Although the awards are lovely and grace my walls, I love the feeling I receive when I know I have helped someone else! Carrying this thru to my business, I love when I see a client’s “ah-ha” moment when we review their accounting records!
When I am not busy with accounting, I am active in the local Ringette community. Both of my daughters play and I play as a goalie in the Open B division (adults). Yes, that is a picture of me in all my goalie gear. It is hard to be cool when you look like the Michelin man!
Let’s work together!
